GENEROSITY

How We Give

At Flood, we understand financial giving to be an element of worship. To give is an invitation from God to grow our hearts in a reflection of his own immeasurable generosity. If you consider yourself a member of Flood Blantyre, please prayerfully consider supporting our ministry in the city by making a regular financial gift. We invite you to give “as you have decided in your heart, not under compulsion or reluctantly”* and not in a strictly accounted tithe. We believe that Jesus is the one building his church and he will provide all that is needed for us to fulfill his call.

"

6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.”
10 He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. 12 For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. 13 By their approval of this service, they will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others, 14 while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you. 15 Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!

Other ways to give

We want it to be as easy as it can be for you to give as the Lord is prompting you! If you notice there is a giving method that you would like to use that is not described on the right, please talk to Emma or Pastor Yami and we will see if it can be added to the options.

Easily give cash during our our Sunday Morning service. During the time of offering, bring your gift forward and leave it in the basket.

Give directly to our local Flood Bank account by sending a transfer using the following account details.

    Bank: Standard Bank
    Branch: Chichiri  (Code 1002)
    Account Name: FLOOD
    Account #: 9100003518040

You can send cash to the church via airtel money using Pastor Yami’s line, which is the church’s main line. Please send him an SMS or Whatsapp explaining the purpose of the gift/directing the money to the general Flood Blantyre fund within good time of sending the airtel money.
Airtel Money #: 0998054323

If you would like to give to church as a monthly tithe (of an amount of your choosing; we do not keep records), you may find envelopes on the counter as you enter church. You can drop these envelopes into the offering basket or personally hand them to a leader to pray together over your giving.

Instead of or in addition to giving a cash gift, you might supply something the church would otherwise need to buy. Ask around the church; we might need a coffee press, craft supplies for kids church, a banner for outreach events, or an HDMI cable. You never know what you already have that could be a gift to the community!

The Compassion Fund is a pool of church money dedicated to meeting the needs of people in our community. You can give directly to this fund using any of the above giving methods, but ensuring that you specify that the gift is for the Compassion Fund. For example, if you were wanted to use a tithe envelope, you would do so by taking a tithe envelope and writing “COMPASSION FUND” on the outside and either dropping the envelope in the offering drum or handing it to a leader.

Examples of past compassion fund gifts: paying rent in a dire circumstance, providing food, covering transportation costs for an immediate family member’s funeral, helping to pay hospital bills.

Support the Pastor directly

As he set out the plant the church, Pastor Yami took up the challenge to fundraise his own salary, allowing all church giving to be put directly back into church ministries. As the church grew, he prayed and chose to continue with this commitment. While the church does provide a living stipend for him now, the bulk of his pastoral salary comes from direct donations. If you believe in Pastor Yami’s work at Flood and would like to support him personally, please follow the link below.
