Christmas 2019 @ Flood Blantyre
When: 22 December, Immediately After Church (Approximately 12:30pm)
Where: The Brady Household (Contact Pastor Yami @ 0998054323 or reach out on the Flood Blantyre Whatsapp group for directions)
What: Celebrate Christmas with us with good food, good friends, and a great chance to do some good.
How can you help?: Please bring a dessert or a side dish to share! Church will provide meat and drinks, but everything else needs to come from the body. 🙂
The Good Stuff: As we did last year, we are partnering with Nthuzi Ministries to serve our city this Christmas. Nthuzi Ministries is a local organization that helps kids in Limbe and Blantyre to get off the streets, reconcile with their familes, and go back to school. Last year we were able to gift 75 Christmas Hampers full of food and daily use items and continue the gift in the new year by providing 40 new uniforms to students. We plan to do the same or better this year!
Contribute to the Hampers and Uniforms Gift by donating to the church through one of our digital options or by bringing a special offering to church on the 22nd. Our leaders will collect all the materials and we will pack the hampers together at the Christmas Party.
When: 24 December (Christmas Eve), doors will be open from 4-8pm
Where: Flood Blanytre (Map)
What: Contemplating Christmas is a set of prayer stations specially designed to help us prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s birth on Christmas. If you have ever participated in Stations of the Cross walk-through around Easter time, this will be similar, only rooted in the tradition of Advent and Christmas rather than Lent and Easter.
Please give yourself approximately one hour to move through the stations, though you may take more or less time depending on how the contemplations hit your heart.
When: 25 December (Christmas Day), 10am
Where: Flood Blantyre (Map)
What: Our first ever special Christmas Day service!
We will worship, read scripture together, hear a teaching, and celebrate the birth of our savior with our church family. For to us a child is born, for to us a child is given. We are finally free!
